Glass Sound

A bluetooth speaker made of redwood and glass.

TYLER BUSHNELL

This speaker works by vibrating the glass to create sound waves. Fiberoptics poke through the joint between the redwood planks as the light indicator. It's a minimal piece that can be deceptive because of it's simplicity and unfamiliar diaphram design. Curious eyes find it as an item of interst before they realize its function.

Bluetooth and battery powered it is light and portable despite being larger, and has a response good for music with discrete sounds, such as jazz. In addition to the bluetooth connectivity, there is also a backup auxiliary cable hidden in the back. Lightweight and portable, this speaker can be transported and used as an unobtrusive boombox for enjoying nature.
